Ok I realize there is probably a 0% chance that someone on here could help me but here it goes anyways
problem #1: Whenever I am at home on my laptop my internet is real streaky and doesn't seem to work properly. My dad set up a wireless router and I am almost 100% sure he set it up right. There are 4 computers in my house (when me and my sister are home our laptops and the laptop downstairs). It seems that my internet on my laptop is the only one that goes in and out of the connection. The connection might stay active for a good hour or two but eventually it cuts off then I have to reconnect. Sometimes even this reconnect doesn't work.
problem #2: When I play counter-strike I can't play for more than 5 seconds without cl_flushentitypack showing up and lagging me out CS. My ping will be fine when I join a server then it will jump from 40 --> 210 --> 800 --> no ping... Almost positive that it has something to do with the wireless connection that is screwing it up.
This all ONLY happens when I am at home and not at school. Even the school's wireless connection is fine.
So like I said, I highly doubt someone can give me a simple solution for this but why not try right?

You could easily have a defective router.
But after some research on the interwebs of cl_flushentitypack it seems to be a common problem with wireless routers. Some people have been able to fix the solution by securing their router with some form of security(WPA, WEP, etc.). Some other places say that it's a driver issue and you need to update your drivers to your network adapter on your laptop.
Some other solutions people have noted that a simple restarting of your router might solve the issue.

i use wireless without issues. important thing to remember is not to have any household products that work on the same frequency especially your cordless phones.

1. This sounds like a issue I have. Depending on the type of laptop, Internet connections (wireless) to a laptop are almost always sketchy. My Toshiba laptop only works well on the internet when directly connected TO the internet modem/router. Also, distance can be a factor involved. The further the distance, the more chance something has of messing with your internet signal. Also, having something such as a phone located directly near the modem/router can easily interfer with with your connection. Also, im sure it doesnt help that 3 (I think you said 3) laptops are running off the same wireless modem/router.
Lots of alsos...
2. The ping could be related with the wireless issue I mentioned above, but im not very good with the CS technical stuff.

Ok here we go
I tried updating my drivers, that didnt solve my problem
Got a new router - It fixed the randomness of my lag spikes and now it's every 2 seconds lol.
Something new is happening now since this new router has been set up.
It says that I am connected to the internet and that the signal is strong but when I launch CS it starts to connect but then stops. Keep in mind my connection is still active and strong (at least it says it is). So I hit the "cancel" button and look for a new server or something and 0 servers are being shown under any of the tabs. This is when I just give up and say "looks like I have to wait til I'm back at school to play."
Also apparently the power strip that the desktop and the modem/router are all plugged into has been acting up which I thought was the problem once I figured that out but apparently not. New power strip too
My laptop is a HP by the way

One thing that immediately comes to mind is to move your Wireless frequency to Channel 1 or 11. I'm assuming it (and most other devices in the neighborhood) are on 6. Try setting it to channel 1 and see if performance improves.

Sumtimes When you have more than 2 computers on a router the internet doesnt get sent out right. if you have 3 or more. the signal from the internet company is cut into 4 different lines 2 go to the seperate computers. and if you have wireless its harder for the signal to get to the computers. and the signal is very weak so thats prolly why you get kicked out of CS thats the same problem i had. So We bought 1 router for 2 computers

I have the same issue, it starts to work fine, and within 3 seconds it starts to lag to 2000 ping. I'm just wondering but, is your ISP AT&T??

connect to your wifi and do a speed test @ www.speakeasy.net see how your speeds vary from one computer to another. Your ping could be related to many issues including the # of pc's you have connected at one time. You only have so much bandwidth to play with. Your laptop disconnecting could be a few things, does it only happen when you are in one place in the house or does it happen all over? How far away are you from the router? Childsplay, i'm not sure what you mean by never use wireless with anything with the internet, but wireless is reliable as long as you're in a set location and not constantly walking around. It could also be a router setting but seeing as how the other laptops seem fine i doubt that's it.

Steam seems to hate some routers also. I can never view server lists or anything with mine, even while plugged straight into the router.
